(Galatians 16:7, I Corinthians 6:9, 15:33 and James 1:16). In this passage we have the example of Ahab, King of Israel, who was deceived. This resulted in Israel's army being defeated and his own death.&#13;
What was it about Ahab that made him so easily deceived? Let's frame our study by considering what we could do that would help us obey the command, "Don't be deceived."</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080629.mp3" length="8493218" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080629.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 29 Jun 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>47:11</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>A Nice Vegetable Garden</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 21:1-29</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>Every once in a while we come across something we really want. It can be an object or an event that grabs our attention and it seems as if it's all we can think about.&#13;
&#13;
In this chapter, Ahab finds himself in such a situation. What transpires is not good but there is a lesson in what the Scriptures teaches. All of us will experience this strong desire from time to time. We can't change the situation but we can change how we respond to it. A careful study can render some very practical help.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080622.mp3" length="8169994" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080622.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 22 Jun 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>45:00</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>Humbly Receive The Implanted World</title><itunes:author>Pastor Bill Foote</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Bill Foote - (No Series): James 1:18-21</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>This passage teaches us some very important aspects of God's Word. In this study we will learn how the Word of God is not only essential in beginning our spiritual life but also in sustaining that spiritual life. We will also see how God's Word is designed to create a desire for His Word and how to respond to that desire by receiving His Word correctly.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080615.mp3" length="8395692" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080615.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 15 Jun 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>46:15</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Bill, Foote</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>Carnality that Hinders</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 20:1-43</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>All of us from time to time have done things that we have regretted later. We realized we were caught up in the moment and acted foolishly or carnally. In the current text we have an example of one whose life was filled with the moments like these. King Ahab is a case study in what we shouldn't do. It's not like the Lord wasn't there to help him, He was, Ahab just didn't avail himself of that help. King Ahab models for us four areas that can keep the Lord from helping us and healing what is broken in our lives.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080608.mp3" length="7768127" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080608.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 08 Jun 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>42:46</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>What Are You Doing Here?</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 19:1-21</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>No matter how outgoing and positive we are, all of us have some down times. Elijah's experience is instructive to us when the question arises, "What does one do when as a believer you are drained and have nothing left to give?"&#13;
&#13;
The enemy of our soul would advise us to give up, but the passage offers a much better course of action. Five statements can be made from this chapter that offer real help.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080601.mp3" length="8939562" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080601.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 01 Jun 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>49:17</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>Elijah &amp; the Prophets of Baal</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 18:1-46</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>Most of us are aware that our western culture is adrift from its Christian foundations. Europe is almost entirely secular with America not far behind. In the study in I Kings, Israel is adrift also. The true worship of the God of the Bible has been compromised, with many Jews worshiping both the Lord &amp; Baal. Into this sad situation enters Elijah who challenges this state of affairs, especially in the chapter today. Note three spiritual realities spiritual realities that can help believers in times like these.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080525.mp3" length="7522994" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080525.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 25 May 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>41:24</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>The Path of Humility</title><itunes:author>Pastor Jason Graham</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Jason Graham - (No Series): John 21:1-17</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>In the passage of Scripture today we see a very humbling event in the life of Simon Peter. Peter is face to face with Jesus after his denial. What we see is the Lord, over breakfast, asking Peter some very probing questions that are meant to lead him down the path of humility. Let's see what we can learn from this painful experience.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080518.mp3" length="8001113" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080518.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 18 May 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>44:04</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Jason, Graham</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>Elijah Brings Life</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 17:1-24</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>The Bible tells us, "Where sin abounds ground abounds all the more." (Romans 5:20) In the midst of all the trouble and sin the people of God were experiencing, there came a ray of light in the person of Elijah. This man was like a breath of fresh air in a stagnant room.&#13;
All of the kings in the ten northern tribes went from bad to worse. Unbelief and skepticism abounded. Note Elijah's attributes that enabled him to bring spiritual help in this dark time.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080511.mp3" length="8423983" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080511.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 11 May 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>46:25</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>Provoking the Lord</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 16:1-34</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>In last week's message we saw how the Lord looks for those He can strongly support. This week we'll see the direct opposite. Five times we see the phrase, "...provoking the Lord to anger." Six kings of the Northern Kingdom are reviewed and they had the same response from the Lord.&#13;
&#13;
If the Lord knows our frame and that we are but dust, why then is the Lord provoked so by sin? The story of these kings will help us understand this, so that we can make an application to our own lives.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080504.mp3" length="7867026" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080504.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 04 May 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>43:19</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item><item><title>The Eyes of the Lord</title><itunes:author>Pastor Neil Travisano</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Pastor Neil Travisano - Kings of the Kingdom: I Kings 15:1-34</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>In II Chronicles 16:9 it is written, "For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He might strongly support those whose heart is completely His."&#13;
&#13;
The question would be, "What are some indications that our hearts are completely His?" In this chapter we find three of these illustrated by three kings: Abijam, Asa and Baasha. Let's consider their stories in light of what kind of life we are living.</itunes:summary><enclosure url="http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080427.mp3" length="8059026" type="audio/mpeg"/><guid>http://www.calvarymissionviejo.com/audio/sermon_20080427.mp3</guid><pubDate>Sun, 27 Apr 2008 10:30:00 -0400</pubDate><itunes:duration>44:23</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>Pastor, Neil, Travisano</itunes:keywords></item></channel></rss>
